It is great to see that seventeen innovative new projects around the globe will receive funding to protect rare species and iconic landscapes. The new £3.5 million share from the Darwin Plus initiative will extensively support the Governments 25 year Environmental plan.
This new fund will support the protection of many rare species in addition to some of the most iconic landscape within UK territory, from the Caribbean Sea to the Polar Regions. The Governments funding will help to support these issues and help to enhance the habitat in the UK Overseas Territories.
It shall also ensure that protecting and enhancing nature in our Overseas Territories will help to make crucial activities such as agriculture, fisheries, forestry and tourism more sustainable in the UK regions.
Ensuring the preservation of some of the UK’s most remarkable locations across the globe is important and something that I strongly believe we should actively support.
