Great news from Chris Grayling today.
The public service obligation ensuring flights between Newquay and London via Gatwick was going be replaced by flights between Newquay and Heathrow once Heathrow’s third runway was built, but this has been brought forward to Spring 2019.
I welcome the announcement from the Secretary of State and the ongoing commitment of connecting Cornwall from the Department for Transport.
Flights between Newquay and Heathrow will provide better connections to London and the rest of the world, bring more international visitors to Cornwall, and will improve exports from cornish businesses.
