It was fantastic to see funds being allocated towards high streets around the UK. I'm a huge supporter of North Cornwall’s high streets and even though the economy is changing, our town centres still have a huge role to play in our communities.
It is great to see this reflected in the budget with £675m going towards rejuvenating Britain’s high streets.

“Small businesses make up the backbone of North Cornwall’s economy and it’s great to be out and about in the constituency meeting with them on a weekly basis. I’m very happy to see that there will be £900m in immediate business rate relief going to half a million small businesses and that the VAT threshold for small businesses will stay the same for the next two years.”
Lindsey Richards from Linterior Design in Wadebridge welcomed the business rates relief, saying:
"It's a real positive for independent traders on the high street. I have just expanded my own premises and I know that this relief will help independent traders to invest in and grow their businesses. I'm very pleased after having considerable discussions with Scott on the matter."
