It was my pleasure to visit Pendennis House in Wadebridge yesterday and meet the staff and service users and even partake in a music therapy session.
Pendennis House is an independent service provider with care and support packages tailored to individual needs.
It was incredible to see the ways in which the staff provide non-restrictive care that ensures safety and independence for those living there. This is largely done through innovation in staff training practices and assisted technology.
Technology is increasingly becoming a part of everyday life and utilising it for services like these is crucial. By introducing sensor-based technologies within an individual’s home which limits the need for 24-hour care these service users are guaranteed a more independent lifestyle.
I look forward to these innovations becoming a more permanent feature of care homes and service providers throughout North Cornwall.
