The Prime Minister has announced a £1,800,000,000 cash injection for the NHS to ensure frontline services have the funding they need – delivering on his pledge on the steps of Downing Street. This includes an £850,000,000 package for 20 hospitals to upgrade outdated facilities and equipment, helping to improve patient care and save more lives.
In Cornwall, the Prime Minister has made £99,900,000 available for a new Women’s and Children’s Hospital at RCHT Treliske to make a real difference to the lives of patients, doctors and nurses.
This is in addition to the new funding announced last year, where the Conservative Government pledged an extra £33,900,000,000 cash to the NHS by 2023-24 – the biggest cash injection in its history.

“The NHS has been there for us whenever we need it for 71 years, and this new funding will make a real difference to the lives of NHS doctors, nurses, and above all, of patients in Cornwall
“I am delighted that RCHT is receiving £99,900,000 funding for a new Women’s and Children’s Hospital. This will upgrade the hospital, and ultimately improve care and treatment to patients across Cornwall.
“The Conservatives are committed to making sure frontline services have the funding they need – meaning more beds, new wards, and extra life-saving equipment to ensure patients continue to receive world-class care.”
