I was disappointed to see that opening of the new Sowenna Mental Health Unit in Bodmin has been delayed.
This new unit was set to open this year and will be crucial in supporting children and adolescents with mental illnesses; the delay means that we will not have access to this facility until later this year.
Supporting the mental health of children and adolescents is incredibly important not only here in North Cornwall but throughout the UK.
I am a strong supporter in bringing the necessary facilities to North Cornwall and although these delays may mean that we are unable to have access to these top facilities – I hope the time will be used to make the unit even better for its eventual users.
