We are a democratic party and I support and respect the result of the confidence vote.
However, I continue to have serious concerns about several elements of the Draft Withdrawal Agreement.
I believe that in an effort to unify the party and parliament the Prime Minister must negotiate either a removal of the backstop entirely, or a legally binding provision must be written into the text which includes an acceptable end date.
If the European Union is serious about a deal then they must re-open the agreement, and support the Prime Minister’s request for changes to the backstop.
