I am very sad to announce that local councillor, member of my team and above all my friend, Val Bugden-Cawsey, has sadly passed away from cancer. Her strength during the battle with malignant melanoma was inspirational, and during that time she continued to support and give back to our community with her ‘Val walks tall’ campaign. Her campaign has managed to raise thousands to help forward support research for Advanced Malignant Melanoma for Plymouth Hospital Charity. Val will be sorely missed by all of us, and I would like to offer my condolences to her husband Terry and the family.
