Last week Scott Mann attended the opening of the new bowling green at the Bodmin Bowls Club which was successful in attracting funding from Sport England.
Scott and the Communities Minister, Marcus Jones, visited the Club last year to hear about their expansion plans to cater for more people, and Scott wrote to Sport England in support of their funding application.
During the opening ceremony, an award of appreciation was also presented to club member Brian Runnalls for his work in applying for the funding which made the expansion possible.
Scott said:
"I'm delighted that the Bodmin Bowls Club have been able to get this funding to open this new facility so quickly.
"Bowls is a great game for socialising as well as for competing, and I'm really pleased that this new facility will allow the Club to cater for more people and more competitions.
"The Communities Minister and I saw the Club's potential for expansion and the club members' passion to attract more people to get involved, and I'm really pleased that they were successful in getting this new indoor bowling green."
