I held a very productive meeting with the Managing Director for Stagecoach, Mark Watson, in Westminster, where I was able to put across the concerns of Bude residents which have been raised due to recent media reports about the Exeter bus service.
He assured me the consultation process would take all views into account, and it’s a routine procedure to look at how routes are used and if their service can be improved. The Mayor of Bude also asked me to raise the issue of journeys for college students in Bude to Exeter. They are 30 mins apart and one goes from central Bude the other from Redpost. This service will remain active.
We have agreed to work together to ensure Bude retains its connections and we will approach the relevant local authorities later this year.
